About Kooky Poodle, A Dog & Cat Inspired Lifestyle Shop in Narberth
Kooky Poodle was born from a lifelong love of animals, a passion for finding beautiful and unusual things, and a slightly obsessive appreciation of all things colourful, quirky and fun!
Behind Kooky Poodle is also a very special dog called Ruby.
Before starting the business, I spent years working with rescue dogs, particularly ex-puppy-farm breeding dogs. Most of these dogs arrived frightened, underweight. They needed patience, understanding and time to learn that life could be different.
Ruby, a black miniature Poodle, was one of those dogs.
She came to me as a foster, a very scared and emaciated little dog. It wasn’t long before it became obvious that she was staying! Watching Ruby slowly gain weight, confidence and trust was incredibly special. Ruby now lives with Rupert, Ralph, Ron & Dennis the Menace (aka ASBO) plus Percy the cat. All except Ron are rescues.
Ruby’s story was the inspiration for Kooky Poodle.
My love of (rescue) dogs & cats is a big part of who I am and what Kooky Poodle represents, but the business has grown into so much more.
So, what is Kooky Poodle?
Kooky Poodle is a colourful, fun and slightly bonkers celebration of our love for animals, and the people who adore them!
I love finding things that make me smile, whether that’s something beautiful for your home, a fun gift for a dog-loving friend, something special for your four-legged family member, or simply a little treat that you absolutely didn’t need but couldn’t resist.
We stock a carefully chosen mix of gifts, homewares, accessories and products for dogs and cats, with plenty of quirky, colourful and unusual pieces thrown into the mix.
Because, let’s face it, our pets aren’t just pets. They’re part of the family and they deserve nice things too!
Although the name is Kooky Poodle, we’re definitely not just about poodles. We’re dog mad, but we’re also huge cat lovers, and you’ll find plenty of things for the feline members of the family too.
Whether you’re shopping online or visiting us in Narberth, we hope Kooky Poodle makes you smile.

A Shop with Personality
I wanted Kooky Poodle to feel different from a typical shop. Somewhere you can come for something for your dog or cat, but also discover a gorgeous piece for your home, find a funny gift, or stumble across something you didn’t even know you needed.
It’s a mix of the things I love: animals, interiors, colour, design, independent makers, great gifts and anything with a bit of personality.
And running through it all is that original love of rescue animals that started the journey.
Ruby may have inspired Kooky Poodle, but today it’s all about celebrating all dogs & cats and the joy they bring into our lives – from the rescue dogs who finally learn to trust, to the cats who completely own the house!
So whether you’re shopping for your own dog or cat, looking for a gift for an animal-loving friend, or just looking for something a little bit different, welcome to Kooky Poodle.
